Who is SignalPlan built for?
AV and low-voltage engineers, system designers, and integrators who need to document devices and signal connections. It supports schematic workflows for commercial AV, structured cabling, CCTV, access control, and networking.
Do I need to install anything?
The workspace runs in your browser. You don’t need a desktop CAD installation to create projects, place devices, or connect ports. An internet connection is required to sign in and save your work.
Can I use my own equipment library?
Yes. Your organization can create catalog devices and define their ports. Use the custom device editor to match the equipment you specify, then reuse those devices across your drawings.
Does SignalPlan replace CAD or BIM?
SignalPlan focuses on system schematics and signal-flow diagrams. It does not provide DWG editing, architectural floor-plan CAD, BIM/Revit integration, or automated cable routing. Cable lengths are entered manually rather than measured from a scaled floor plan.
Are collaboration and quoting available?
The current workspace focuses on system drawings and equipment catalogs. Real-time multiuser editing, drawing-derived bills of materials, and customer quotes are planned features and are not available yet.
What does SignalPlan cost?
Launch pricing and plan limits have not been announced. The workspace sign-in is available through the Open SignalPlan links on this site.
